What is a raceway?

A channel letter sign raceway mounting is a method of installing individual channel letters on a building's facade by attaching them to a long, narrow box called a raceway, which also houses the electrical components and wiring for the letters.

What is individual letter mounting?

Individual letter mounting is when the channel letter is installed directly onto a wall without a raceway. Expect the installation time to increase by 50% or more depending on the complexity of the sign.

What is a backboard?

A channel letter sign backboard mounting involves attaching individual channel letters directly onto a flat board or surface, which is then mounted to the building facade. This method provides a clean and uniform look.

Will my sign light up?

All Rey Signs channel letters internally LED illuminate this makes the letters visible during day and night.

How will my sign turn on and off?

All signs come with an included small timer . This allows for your installer to set up your sign to automatically turn on and off.

It is essential for your warranty to be valid for the sign to have an auto on and off. If the sign is on 24/7 it will void your warranty.

You can design your own sign using the sign design tool above or request a quote for our pro design team to design a custom sign for you.

The typical turnaround time for storefront signage is 2-4 weeks. Plus shipping time.

We do offer rush production and delivery for an additional cost that varies from project to project

Installation 

Do I need a Sign Permit before the installation?

Yes, a sign permit is required before the production and installation. If you select the installation option we will take care of the sign permit process for you. 

If you will only have the sign shipped to you we will provide sign drawings that you can use to obtain a sign permit. You are responsible for obtaining a sign permit and installer for the sign.

How long is the installation process?

The installation process for a storefront sign will take 1 full 8-hour day.  

Do I have to be present during the full time of the installation?

You will only need to be on-site to open the building door and show the installer the electrical room.You do not need to be on-site during the full-time line of the installation.If you can not be on-site at all please have a coded lockbox with a key to the building. This will allow for our installers to have access to the building to set up any electrical connection. After the installation, our installer will make sure to lock all doors and return the key into the lockbox.

Sign Permit

Is a sign permit required?

Yes, a sign permit is typically required for any exterior signage. We do offer a sign-permitting service with all our new signs.

If you select the installation option we will take care of the sign permit process for you. 

If you will only have the sign shipped to you we will provide sign drawings that you can use to obtain a sign permit. You are responsible for obtaining a sign permit and installer for the sign.

Can I have my sign installed without a permit?

Yes however you are 100% responsible for any issues like warnings, fees, or violations given by the city for installing the sign without a permit. You are also responsible for any installation and removal fees.

Can I apply for my own sign permit? 

In the event you do not wish to acquire the Rey Signs permitting service, you forfeit your right to any assistance with the permitting process. Rey Signs will not fill out an application, communicate with the city on your behalf or provide any guidance during the sign-permitting process. If you choose to apply on your own, you will be fully responsible for gathering, filling, and signing the application and supporting documents. Rey Signs will only provide you with a sign drawing and COI if requested by the city.
